Elitism is the belief that certain persons or members of certain classes or groups deserve
favored treatment by virtue of their perceived superiority, as in intellect, social status, or
financial resources.
Ethnocentrism is the tendency to look at the world primarily from the perspective of one's own culture. It is the belief in the superiority of one's own ethnic group.
Classism is the biased or discriminatory attitude based on distinctions made between
social or economic class.
Racism is a belief that inherent differences among the various human races determine
cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior
and has the right to rule others.
Sexism is a discrimination based on a person's sex, as in restricted job opportunities;
especially, such discrimination directed against women.
Adultism is a term describing the arbitrary mistreatment of children and young people based purely on their age.
Nationalism is the belief that the country one lives in is superior to all other countries. It is often used as a political tactic, especially where international politics, such as interfering in another country's war or conflict, is concerned.
Heterosexism is a form of discrimination that favors heterosexuals over lesbians, gay men, and bisexuals.
Ageism is stereotyping and discriminating against individuals or groups on the basis of their age.
Discrimination based on disability against people with disabilities in favor of people who are not disabled. An ableist society is said to be one that treats non-disabled individuals as the standard of "normal living", which results in public and private places and services, education, and social work that are built to serve 'standard' people, thereby inherently excluding those with various disabilities.
I believe that racism and classism and elitism are the most pernicious. The second group includes sexism, ethnocentrism, and nationalism. Adultism, heterosexism, ageism, and discrimination of disabilities are the tertiary. Racism is the most serious structural violence throughout the history. The holocaust of Jewish took place because of the races. The mistreatment of black people occurs after the slavery. It is even still happening now. As the gap between rich and poor people increase, Classism appeared more frequently. It forms rebellion, protest, and revolution. Classism caused several big revolution in the history, such as French Revolution. Elitism is similar to Classism. The structural violence in the group are the factors of many big events in history which caused many casualties yet they are still happening in the modern world now. In the second group, sexism, ethnocentrism and nationalism happened in history, too. However, they aren't that extreme. The third group is the least harmful, because they are all easy to convert. For example, adultism and ageism are both discrimination about age. Everyone grows order along the time passes. Today you treat him badly because he is a child, twenty years later you won't treat him in the same way because he becomes an adult. I think racism is the one that is most difficult to eliminate. It was built by a long history. It spread all over the world and numerous generations. Racism is a natural concept in people' mind. We were born with racism. When you go to another country, you will automatically gather with the people with the same race. When you hate a person who has the different race from you, you must be hating all the people with the same race as the person at that moment.
People always try to solve the problems caused by structural violence. We should eliminate the most pernicious violence first. Unfortunately, racism cannot be eliminate. People born as racist. It can't be change though education. The only way is through religion. Everyone is equals in pure religions, but not everyone is willing to convert to a religion. Let's look at classism. I believe that classism can be eliminated through welfare policy. For example, government should support the disadvantage classes in order to reduce the gap between different classes. Another method is that tell world billionaire, who evades taxes, if they donate their money to NGO, they don't have to pay taxes.
